Thinking of where to spend summer to get some tanning, then dont think too much plan your trip to Mallorca or Majorca . Mallorca is one of the beautiful Balleric islands and most popular among the Mediterranean in Spain. This place is having a very sunny climate and it is having beaches, views, mountains , castles etc. The best time to visit Mallorca is the summer months of June to August. The weather can be warm upto 30 degree celcius.

If you are a weekend traveler , then you can easily enjoy the place in two days. There are many beautiful places to see here . Even the architecture beauty of Spain on the roadsides are beautiful ones and we tend to stop and see them. If you have planned for just a two day trip then the first day you can plan for the major tourist spots in Mallorca. Some of the major places that you must see are Palma Cathedral,Bellver Castle, Royal palace of La Almudaina , Palma Aquarium and of course the beautiful beaches of Palmaa. It was just 10 minutes walk from our Hotel to Cala Major beach. On Saturday morning we had planned to visit the major sightseeing places. If you want to cover all the places on one day and to manage your time , it is better to take a 'hop on hop off'. The Hop on Hop Off has stops near to Palma Cathedral so we have taken bus till the common stop . The Hop on Hop Off covers almost all the places and you will get plenty of time at each place to see around. If you are planning to skip some places in the list make sure you are not skipping Bellver Castle and Palma Cathedral. The view of the Balleric sea from the top of Bellver Castle is mind blowing.

The end of your Hop on Hop off has to be Palma cathedral. The night view of Palma Cathedral cant be explained in words. We have completed the the full round trip by evening and since it was summer the day light was still there. So we have decided to roam around the city by walk . The night life in and around the Cathedral is really nice. You will see lots of places to shop also some wonderful restaurants to have some unique Baleric tastes. By 9 at night it started getting dark and we started back to the Palma cathedral and then all the lights were turned on. It was so beautiful that we didn't want to go back to the hotel. After starting at the Palma Cathedral for a long time we decided to go back to hotel.

The hotel was near to Cathedral , since it was late night there was shortage in public buses , so we have decided to take a taxi and came to Hotel.

The next day morning we have decided to go to the Europe's largest Shark tank - The Palma Aquarium. There are public buses direct to aquarium and we have taken that. It was really a nice trip as the aquarium was far from the city. The bus trip though the sea shore was also a wonderful experience. It is always better to book the tickets to Palma aquarium in advance so that you can easily go inside without the queues. The Palma aquarium is a wonder under water.

The Palma beach near the aquarium is a beautiful one with lots of water sports . After enjoying the water sports you can either go for shopping or enjoy the beach . Since we were staying near the Cala Major beach , we went there and had the sun bath from after noon.

The day was over and we went back to the hotel and our flight back to Copenhagen was next day morning. After thanking Palma for the two day eye pleasing memories we have bid bye and headed back to Copenhagen.

Tips to enjoy your trip :

  1. Make sure to keep some change in euro as public transport wont accept any credit cards . Also all the taxis wont have credit card acceptance. Even Hop on Hop off doesn't allow paying with card

  2. You should keep a local sim with you with good internet connection so that you can use google maps and walk around. We have used Lyca sim from Denmark and it can be used in all the Europe without any roaming charges.

  3. Before you leave for your trip check the weather in Palma as it can have some good amount of rains at any time and if you are not prepared for that you will get drenched.

  4. Try to stay nearer to the major sight seeing locations

  5. If you have more than 2 days to spend then you can get a cruise from Palma to Barcelona or Valencia and have a nice time there .
