Welcome to Prague , the city of beauty and beer !! :)
It is also the city of art . The beauty of this city is equal to Paris and even more. The beer is the best in Europe. What more to say , this weekend we are here in this small city of Czech Republic- Prague.
This was my second trip to Prague, A city which took me to her for the second time. Though the city and landscapes never change , the beauty of Prague increases every day. We have reached Prague on a Saturday morning by flight from Copenhagen and took a stay near to the old Town in Prague. If you have come to Prague to enjoy , then walk around and be like a Czech . If you want to enjoy it to the full , please don't take any day trips or tour packages roam around by yourself. This is the reason why we have taken a stay very near to the old town . After reaching the hotel without any delay we started walking to old city of Prague. All the buildings in Prague is very unique.
All the major attractions in Prague were near to our place , like Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, Astronomical clock, St Vitus Cathedral, Old town Square, The church of the Lady, The Petrin Look out tower, Lennon wall, St Nicholas Church etc. You just need a day to go all these places and see around if you are on foot
You can also take help of trams , if you are feeling tired.
First we went to the Old town Square , where you can see many street performers

The old town square is having a big crowd with people all around the world. There are so many variety restaurants serving different cuisines. Walking with the crowd to see these places and to taste the street foods is a very memorable. The beautiful churches and Cathedrals in Prague is also located at this place. The art work in each church and buildings clearly describe the love of art here in Prague. The roads are stone paved , so you dont feel like walking in a road.
On the way we noticed a 600 year old astronomical clock , which still ticks!

We could see that many people are crowded in front of this clock , facing it and waiting for something . It was 1 minutes to 11 in the morning . Due to our eagerness , we also stood there looking at the clock . At sharp 11 , the clock started ticking with two small men coming out of clock doing some things and so other guys ticking the clock. It was a beautiful , after this we googled and checked what this is . This is wonderful early 15th-century Astronomical Clock (orloj): each hour, it springs to life as the 12 Apostles and other figures appear and parade in procession across the clock face .
We wanted to wander there for some more time , but we started heading forward to the Charles Bridge. It is One of the most recognizable old bridges in Europe and It boasts 32 unique points of interest along its 520-meter span .
The bridge is famous for its many fine old statues . Other highlights include spectacular views over the River Vltava and the structure's superb Gothic gates.
Crossing the Charles Bridge , we reached the Lennon Wall on the other side. Prague's Lennon Wall has stood since the 1980s as a tribute to former Beatle and peace campaigner John Lennon . Charles Bridge became a place for fans to demonstrate their grief, painting pictures and slogans attributed to the star. Despite police efforts to erase the graffiti (Czechoslovakia, as it was then, was still under communist rule), the memorial wall kept reappearing and, along with Lennon's lyrics, the site became a symbol of hope and peace for the city's population.
Next we started walking to the Prague Castle , once the home of Bohemia's kings, is today the official residence of the Czech Republic's President and one of the city's most visited tourist attractions . Within the castle walls are a number of Prague's most popular tourist sites, including St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George's Basilica, the Powder Tower, the Old Royal Palace, and theGolden Lane. This is a very vast castle and it will take some time to see around the whole place. Make sure to see the Royal Garden also. It is a very beautiful view to see the Prague from top of Prague castle. You can also see the Petri Lookout tower from here. It is on top of another elevated place. If you have the energy to walk up till that place , you can try going there . For us since it was getting dark already , we planned to see the sunset from the Prague castle . After the sunset we went back to the Old town.
If you are interested in shopping there are some good places for you. There is a mall just near to the Old town - Palladium mall , where you can have a bit of shopping. We were really hungry by the time we reached the mall. There were some good Indian restaurants in this mall where we could get the feel of home. :) If you dont feel like doing a shopping , then you can take an uber to see the Dancing tower in Prague.
The next day we planned to visit the famous Prague Zoo, it is one of of the top attractions in Prague and also it ranks top among the world's top 10 zoological parks.
Zoo is a bit far from the city , still you can get an Uber and get there. Public transportation is also available to the zoo.
You need a full day to see the whole zoo. We had booked a bus back to Copenhagen from Prague , so we we have started back from the zoo after 4 in the evening. With this second trip we were able to cover almost all the places in Prague except the country side and trekking. There is always a next time !!!!
